Arm Lift (Brachioplasty)
Brachioplasty or Arm Lift is an operation designed to remove excess tissue from the inner portion of the arms. Excess skin and tissue in this area can be a embarrassing problem causing the patient to ‘cover up’ their arms even in warm weather. This excess tissue is almost impossible to remove by exercise or diet alone and can in fact appear worse following weight loss as the skin becomes deflated and hangs down further.
A brachioplasty procedure is designed to remove this excess skin and fat through a combination of liposuction and skin excision. The scar is designed to fall on the inside of the upper arm so it is not visible unless the arms are lifted above one’s head. It is very effective at significantly improving the shape of the arms, making them appear slimmer and more ‘toned’ even in a shoulder length dress or top.
