Suture removal (if required) is generally a quick and painless procedure.

Facial sutures are usually removed early (between three and seven days) to allow for the finest possible scars.  Elsewhere on the body, sutures may remain for up to 2 weeks to maximise wound strength. In these situations I almost always use "buried" dissolving sutures and only the ends of the sutures need to be trimmed.
