Necklift

Neck lift is a procedure designed to improve the appearance of the neck , removing loose skin and excess fat and eliminate vertical folds in the neck. It aims to define the jawline and remove the "double chin". The operation is designed to improve the definition of the jaw line in both the frontal and side views.

All deeper plane facelifts tighten the muscles of the neck to improve the jowl area and the definition of the jaw line in both the frontal and side views. To eliminate vertical folds in the neck and improve the neck and chin definition as much as possible, I would almost always perform an anterior platysmaplasty (tightening of the anterior neck muscles to obtain the best contour) in combination with a lower or full facelift to achieve the same effective rejuvenation in the neck as in the rest of the face. This is done through a small incision below the chin.

Scars

The scars usually fall within the hairline and around the ear and under the chin. They are designed in such a way that you will be able to wear your hair in any style that you wish once they have had a chance to mature.

Short Scar Neck Lift

This procedure is designed to improve the neck contour through an incision ONLY under the chin. It is very helpful in younger patients and men who have “fullness” in the neck and have always lacked good neck definition.

The procedure is designed to remove the often excessive deep layer of fat in the neck (that is inaccessible by liposuction and other non-invasive procedures) and correct the muscle sling that should form the neck contour.

Additional Procedures

There are a number of additional procedures that complement the results of a necklift and may be recommended.

Bony adjustment of the chin (genioplasty) can produce a subtle yet dramatic improvement in the facial proportions.
